This 'trend' does honour the animal. Far better than a fur coat in my opinion.

Fur coats are also a trend that doesn´t honour an animal... for protesting against things like this there are other buttons... need a link?

I always thought the animals were just "found" and then the people would take the fur and make them a non-living reminder of what used to be. I didn't realize that they were actually farmed for that single purpose. I have a whole new outlook on those "realistic" plushies D:

Maybe some of them are really found. But that's probably just one of fifty.
I mean, when did you see an suicidal artic fox somewhere next to a road in the middle of US the last time? I bet, not very often.

Nope. I've got a commission from someone, of a coyote soft-taxidermy mount, being sent to me. The coyote died naturally in a zoo (a local one here) and I think it's a good way to give the animal a 'second life' and a portion of the money (at least $70) goes to my local zoo as a donation for the upkeep of other zoo animals.

If it's really that way then it's truly not a bad thing. But killing animals just for their fur is not right. THIS is what we want to tell with that page.
When someone does taxidermy with a dead found bird or any kind of road kill then it´s fine with me. Really.
But not if animals have to suffer for the human conceitedness.

let me tell you something, this is just like EVERYONE else that is freakin out about these so called "toys" first of all, weather you like it or not, everything we do goes to fur farming, taxes support it, hey you got a pet? Dog or cat perhaps? the meats in it are the scrap bodies from fur farms! You know those yummy lil veggies vegitarians are trying to force on the wrold? guess what, the fertelizer is also made of of things from fur farms, and so you know, not all pelts are from fur farms, some are hunted, some are found on the road *most of the time thats unlikley* And don't say your against something that is a form of art. These so called "toys" AREN'T TOYS, they're used for ART purposes, and don't say you know they are used for toys, its taxidermy! All these lil plush's are are soft filled taxidermy pieces, and i highly doubt that anyone whose gonna pay abou 750$ to get one of these soft filled pelts would play with it like a toy, weather you like it or not, weather i like it or not *and i support it* is the fact that nothings going to happen. The world sucks ass like that, i don't like peta and they're still a fucking popular ass originazation, and i can't do anything about it. Taxidermy is a form of art that DA recognizes it for, its not cruel to the animal, it doesn't need a filter because the animal is already dead and all you see is the pelt. And everyone thinks all fur farms are bad NO THEY ARE NOT, most fur farms EUTHINIZE thier animals, no they aren't beaten like in china, *its against the law to purchase furs from china*and by american laws, there is a certain way ALL THE ANIMALS must be taken car of, and if they do not meet the criteria, that farm is shut down, so why don't you people stop being so nieve and actually learn both sides of the story before you start assuming that all taxidermy is used for toys, or is JUST from fur farms. Belive me i know how you feel, i was once against tacidermy HELL anything with fur, but now i understand why its a form or art, and by such, i respect it, i do not belittle it.

no not nesicarilly sweetie, actually, people get pelts from fur farms some times, the only reason that is is because some of the pelts don't reach the standards and are trashed or sold to others who want the pelts, so its not wasted, Yes so pelts are found as roadkill, but i know there are some hunters that wil lhunt JUST to mount them, but some hunters will use everything on the animal, and not waste anything :3 so don't assume its bad arlight, just learn more, then once you learn more, then make your decision on it.
